The authorities give the information about two older women who were stabbed by the man. The incident had happened when they were waiting for the bus in downtown San Francisco. In addition to that, the attack came amidst anti-Asian violence in the country since the onset of the epidemic.
One of the women’s age is 84, and the other female age is 63. Both of the women are admitted to the hospital and get treatment regarding several stab wounds. The police department of San Francisco gave this information in the news release on Wednesday. Both of the women are not in any critical condition.
Moreover, the SEPD arrested that man nearly about 7 pm after the two hours when he stabbed those two women. The name of the man is Patrick Thompson, and his age is 54 years. In addition to that, police also revealed that he faces two murder cases and two counts of elderly abuse.
Patricia Lee mentioned in a Local ABC TV station that she was working at a flower stand that is closer to the bus platform where she saw the incident. In addition to that, she said that “ It was a pretty big knife, it had knuckles on the handle, and the blade has holes in there like a military knife.”
This attack follows the current increment in the crimes done against the Asian Americans in the Bay Area and nationwide in the time of coronavirus pandemic. Between March 2020 and past February, Stop AAPI Hate, a nonprofit, found the abuse against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders found nearer 3780 hate incidents.
