Australian citizens stranded in India could face a potential 5-year jail or a hefty penalty by the Government if they attempt to return to their home country!
Australian Government has temporarily made it illegal for any commuters to travel from India to Sydney or any other cities of their country. In the wake of the recent COVID-19 Pandemic havoc in India, this decision came to light by the country’s health ministry. Many people in quarantine acquired the COVID-19 infection in India, and the surging cases are also a big concern for managing authorities.
Earlier last week, Australia banned all the flights coming from India!
Amongst the 9,000 Australians stranded in India, 600 of them have a probability of capturing the infections!
The global buzz is created as first time Australians are getting criminalized to get back to their country.
Another Australian media report says that doctors in Australia look up to a probable threat from the people returning from India. The famous health commentator and GP further stated that several families abandoned in India and overseas are facing crucial challenges and there looks no way to get off it!
Why are Australians unable to return to their country?
Probably because even the ‘world-class’ quarantine is now witnessing a significant failure, on Monday, anyone in India within 14 days of approximate arrival date will get banned from visiting the country. If they fail to comply with this rule, that could lead to a 5-year jail, A$66,000 fine, or both! The Health Ministry claims to review the decision on 15th May.
Health Minister Greg Hunt further added that the Government wouldn’t any decision on a lighter note!
But it is a bizarre scenario where the integrity of Australian Public Health and the quarantine facilities to tackle the COVID-19 cases is reduced significantly!
