The Frog and the Boastful Bull: A Story of Humility
In a quiet pond surrounded by green meadows, there lived a community of frogs. Among them was a small but clever frog named Finn. He was humble and content, enjoying his peaceful life in the pond.
One day, a large bull wandered into the meadow near the pond. The bull was big and strong, and he loved to boast about his size and power.
"Look at me!" the bull bellowed. "I am the biggest and strongest creature in the meadow. No one can compare to me!"
The frogs watched in awe, but Finn simply smiled and continued to go about his day. The bull, noticing Finn’s indifference, grew irritated.
"You, little frog," the bull said, puffing out his chest, "don’t you see how mighty I am? Can you even dream of being as big as me?"
Finn, unbothered by the bull’s arrogance, replied calmly, "Size doesn’t always mean strength or wisdom."
Angered by Finn’s words, the bull decided to challenge the frog. "I will show you that I am not only the biggest but also the best!"
The bull began to inflate himself, trying to appear even larger. His muscles strained as he puffed out his chest, his sides swelling. The more he tried to impress, the more the other frogs became worried.
"Be careful," Finn warned, "You may overdo it."
But the bull ignored him, determined to prove his greatness. He kept inflating himself until suddenly, with a loud pop, the bull's sides burst, and he fell to the ground, exhausted and humiliated.
The frogs, including Finn, looked at the bull with sympathy. Finn spoke gently, "Pride and boasting can lead to one’s downfall. Sometimes it’s better to be content with who you are than to try and be something you’re not."
The bull, humbled by his foolishness, nodded in agreement.
The moral of the story is: "Pride comes before a fall, and true strength lies in humility."
